Moved Servers Out of Office and Split my fingertip
Article Entry Date: March 25,2026
I finally got around to doing something I had wanted to do for the last several months.
I moved my Server Rack into a room of its own. This does two things.

  1. Keeps the Office from overheating«
  2. Keeps the noise level down in the office«
  3. More room for the Studio Equipment and less clutter.«
  4. Moving the Server rack out of the office and into the spare Room.«
  5. Splitting of my finger.«

Keeps the Office from overheatingThe office was getting too hot and almost unbearable, and with the summer coming up, I knew I would not be able to stand being in here, the one place I can be at where my mind does not torment me over the loss of my son.

Keeps the noise level down in the officeThe noise level.
I was so used to the noise that the quiet might get to me. The one good thing about being here alone is that I can listen to my music without having anyone nag me about turning it down.

More room for the Studio Equipment and less clutter.I have a place for all my Tripods, Lights, and Screen Fixtures, which was where the Server Rack was. I am now able to set up my camera for vlogging and for doing product reviews and unboxing like I used to.
So much more has been opened up for me since moving the servers out of this space.
I will add pictures once I have both rooms organized.

Moving the Server rack out of the office and into the spare RoomI removed all the Servers from the rack.
  1. 5 Dell R710s
  2. 1 Dell R720
  3. .
  4. 8 12V 26AH SLA Batteries
The batteries are contained on a separate rack I built for them. As the batteries are not the default ones that the Battery Backup unit uses. These are 4 x the size and AH (Amp hour)
All I had to do was disconnect one cable from the Backup Unit, and remove the Battery Level Indicator from the side of the server rack.
  5. Move the 30 AMP wire and Connector out of the office and into the spare room.
It took about 30 minutes to accomplish this, as I had to unscrew the Printer rack I made from the baseboard, and then snake the long 20-foot wire cable, which, if you have never messed with this gauge wire before, it is hard to maneuver around things.
The landlord wired the 30-AMP fuse and connected the plug connector for me over a year ago.

Splitting of my finger. And then there is the splitting of my finger.
This makes it very difficult to type, and I constantly have to back up and replace letters.
How did I split my finger?
March 23, 2026, 7:00 pm EST, taking the top server out of the rack and not doing it the right way. The server slipped, fell to the floor, and my finger has a slit from the tip down about a 1/4 inch long. It looks like a hook.
The server, luckily, did not have any hard drives in it, so nothing was messed up. So thankful.
It would be about 5 hours later before I would take the rest of them out, and this time I did it the correct way.
Not sure how long it will take for my finger to get better, or at least get to where it does not hurt to type. I need to be able to type.

Still proofreading and editing.

Second Novel

I am working on the new book, but I still haven't come up with a title for it yet.
I was hoping for 100,000 words, but I'm not sure if I'll make that goal or not. Then again, I still have seven or more chapters to go. Then I will begin the actual editing, which will be a very time-consuming process.
Wish me luck.
It is getting there, just very time-consuming, as this is the process of editing a book, but I love it....Continue reading...

A little word for those that want to become an author

Writing

This is just my experience; others have their ways of doing things, so this is mine.
#1: Pull from what you know.
Life has a way of providing us with all the information we need to develop various ways to express ourselves in story form.
From our first love, the first kiss, that particular moment we first saw the one we wanted to spend our lives with, to the birth of our child, or our first granddaughter, to getting married....Continue reading...

Gwother's farm yard friends - Poor little chicken (Story #1)

Short Funny Stories

Back many years ago, before I was even thought of, there was a young girl who loved going out playing with her pigs, chickens, and cows, and one day, while out playing, one of the cows came up to her about a chicken who had broken its foot. She rushed over to the chicken and noticed the poor little creature was surrounded by all the pigs, cows, and, of course, its chicken family....Continue reading...
